The upper part comes off to freeze and the base stays in place. The upper part has a manageable weight to move to the freezer but enough mass to keep the wine cool for a long period of time. Barbany treated every unique stone with delicacy and care, fitting each hole and pin by hand. The interior is also treated to be waterproof and can be used as traditionally with water and icecubes.

La parte superior de la piedra se extrae para poder enfriarse en el congelador, mientras que la base permanece en su lugar. La pieza superior tiene un peso manejable para trasladarla al congelador, pero suficiente masa para mantener el vino frío durante un largo periodo de tiempo. Barbany trabajó cada piedra única con delicadeza y precisión, ajustando cada orificio y unión a mano. El interior también está tratado para ser impermeable y puede utilizarse de manera tradicional con agua y cubitos de hielo.
